Where it leads
Oxford Alternative
A ring road city of student bands and apple-shed studios, where shoegaze, Britpop and math rock share a rehearsal room.
UK Shoegaze, 1988–1994
The guitars blur the edges. The song is still somewhere inside.
Seattle Grunge
Heavy riffs played by people raised on punk, recorded cheap in the Pacific Northwest and then sold worldwide.
