Where it leads
LA Beat Scene
Instrumental hip-hop with the grid loosened — Los Angeles beats that wobble on purpose.
Chicago House
A drum machine, a cheap sampler and a church-raised voice — the blueprint every dance record still borrows.
Detroit Techno
Drum machines built into science fiction: Black futurism from a collapsing motor city, made for the floor.
