XL Middleton, Saucy Lady

D.C. Go-Go

Percussion that never stops: congas, cowbell and crowd chants holding one groove across a whole night.

Minneapolis Sound

Linn drums, Oberheim stabs, no horn section: funk rebuilt by one city's worth of overlapping bands.
