Where it leads
Sheffield Electronic
Steel-city synths: from tape-loop industrial in a cutlery workshop to the bleep techno that started Warp.
Chicago House
A drum machine, a cheap sampler and a church-raised voice — the blueprint every dance record still borrows.
Trax Records
The Chicago label at the origin of house: cheap pressings, foundational tracks.
