Where it leads
Early Jungle
London 1992–94: breakbeat hardcore mutates into something darker, faster and entirely its own.
Native Tongues
Friends on each other's records, with enough imagination to make hip-hop bigger.
Chicago House
A drum machine, a cheap sampler and a church-raised voice — the blueprint every dance record still borrows.
