Where it leads
Dance Mania
Chicago strips house to the frame: raw drums, rude chants, and a track you can't sit through.
Chicago House
A drum machine, a cheap sampler and a church-raised voice — the blueprint every dance record still borrows.
Madchester
Guitar bands playing to a dancefloor clock: loose drums, wah pedals, 808s and a city on E.
