Where it leads
Canterbury Scene
English jazz-rock with fuzz organ, odd time signatures and deadpan humour — a family tree, not a sound.
Vancouver Punk
The west-coast first wave that coined 'hardcore' — political, tuneful and absurdly early.
Austin Post-Rock
Instrumental Texas music built on patience: guitars that swell instead of riff, drone that behaves like weather.
