Where it leads
Japanese Techno, '90s–'00s
Tokyo and Osaka build their own techno — precise, melodic, and a little stranger than the blueprint.
Chicago House
A drum machine, a cheap sampler and a church-raised voice — the blueprint every dance record still borrows.
Detroit Techno
Drum machines built into science fiction: Black futurism from a collapsing motor city, made for the floor.
