Where it leads
Athens, GA
Art-school kids in a college town inventing American indie rock in rented houses, one party at a time.
Detroit Garage Revival
Two-guitars-no-bass primitivism, soul covers played wrong, and 7-inches pressed a thousand at a time.
Chapel Hill Indie Rock
Detuned guitars, college-town economics and a label run out of a bedroom — the South's answer to Seattle.
