Where it leads
New York Salsa / Fania
A city’s Latin neighbourhoods, heard through voices, horns and a rhythm section that never stands still.
Chicago House
A drum machine, a cheap sampler and a church-raised voice — the blueprint every dance record still borrows.
Detroit Techno
Drum machines built into science fiction: Black futurism from a collapsing motor city, made for the floor.
