Where it leads
Bakersfield Sound
Dust Bowl honky-tonk cut loud and live: Telecasters, pedal steel, no strings, no Nashville polish.
Paisley Underground
Punk kids who kept the fuzzboxes but put the Byrds and Love back on the turntable.
San Francisco Psychedelia
Ballroom bands who stretched blues and folk into twenty-minute jams, pressed before anyone edited them down.
