Where it leads
Chicago Post-Rock
Rock instruments played like studio tools — dub space, jazz chords, tape edits, vibraphone where the vocal should be.
Chapel Hill Indie Rock
Detuned guitars, college-town economics and a label run out of a bedroom — the South's answer to Seattle.
Reykjavík Experimental
A town the size of a suburb that keeps producing music that sounds like landscape.
